NEW MEMBER
CLUB BUSINESSWe currently have a membership of 36. Pack Mule is waiting on one more good rain before submitting the permit application for McGaffey Lake to the Forest Service. Rain or shine, the paperwork will go out in June. The beginner’s shoot held on Saturday May 8 went over okay. Attendance was pretty light, about 8 shooters or so, due to conflicts with other activities. Therefore, there was plenty of shooting and instruction time for those that did attend. The weather was perfect and a good time had by all. The New Mexico Bighorn Gun Club is tentatively looking at putting on a modern pistol shoot July 10 at their range. A “pistol committee” has recently come together and frequent pistol events are in the works. Hopefully, there will be more information on the forthcoming event by the July newsletter. Long Tongue is interested in putting on a canoe trek before too long. David will be checking with the Corps of Engineers, as well as visiting Cochiti Lake for a first hand look at the water situation. More to follow. Member Strawstalker was in attendance at the May business meeting. He appears to be on the mend after his bypass surgery, and will be stalking the Mountain Man Runs once again real soon. |
