New Mexico Mountain Men

Shot Rod

The NMMM are proud to announce the addition of a new councilor to its advisory group. Shot Rod will serve as councilor along with Ron B., Many Scars, KD, Long Tongue, and Does It All. Charley and his wife Kathy have been rendezvousing for nearly thirty years. The NMMM will benefit greatly from his experience. Charley recently appeared on the January cover of the Backwoodsman Magazine. He was photographed a couple of Ratons ago scrimshawing on one of his powder horns. Congratulations Charley and thanks for helping out!

The Club will be purchasing a case or so of powder, mostly 3 and 4F, and a couple cartons of caps again this year at the Western nationals. The powder will be available to NMMM at purchase price. Right now Timber is holding a small stock of 2F at $10.50 a pound.

What to do with the State Hawk and Knife is a little up in the air right now. The triathlon was okay last season, but not the turnout we hoped for. Maybe a Saturday event coupled to a barbeque would work this year. Ideas welcomed.

2006 has started off big for the NMMM. Our membership is at 50 and the year is just getting started. There are a few faces we’re missing. Hope to see them soon.
