Holster for Rogers & Spenser

Another early project! I copied this from a photograph of an 1850s original in the book "Packing Iron". It came out very good. I used a coin, an Xacto knife and a demitasse spoon to do the carving. If I did another, I would line it with pigskin. Note that most of the early hosters were much more concerned with retention than quick access.

Lesson

  1. Use Tyvek instead of paper for patterns. Works much better. Whenever I get something in one of those fiberous envelopes from the post office, I save the envelope.
  2. Line holsters, every time.
