| I machine breech plugs for muzzleloading rifles, shotguns and fowling pieces, and pistols from solid bar stock, and I fit each plug to each barrel individually. I will not make or sell any plug that I do not fit. This protects both of us from incorrectly fitted breech plugs. Some folks send me barrels they have previously purchased. If you prefer, I will order a barrel for you. Then I will machine and fit the breech plug of your choice to it. I have built muzzleloading firearms to-order for nearly forty years. Among the items that I machine are items that, perhaps, no one else in the country builds, such as swivel barrel heavy game rifles and Manton and Henry heavy game rifles and fowlers. When I built your firearm, the gun stock I create is individually fitted to your dimensions. Excluding the bandsaw I use to create the blank from which I work, I use no power tools, just the stock blank of your choice--then hand tools, linseed oil, and a lifetime of experience--the traditional way. |
